Our documentary film accelerator to connect projects and professionals
For emerging filmmakers with a documentary vision, navigating the ever-changing and -shifting landscape of fundraising, marketing, distribution and sales can be dizzying.
With our partners, E2AC seeks to change that, even slightly, for the better. Sizzle 2 Screen acts both as submission portal for all E2AC films as well as the first step in accessing our Doc Accelerator: a volunteer committee of documentary film professionals who - if your project is selected - will review, assess, and give honest feedback on your project prior to its completion.
The E2AC Doc Accelerator is completely free (no cost to submit) and takes no equity or credit in the project if selected. For documentary filmmakers committed to making a social impact, there is no downside. If it seems too good to be true, then…welcome to E2AC Films.

Why we need Sizzle 2 Screen.
We talked to a lot of documentary filmmakers who want to create impactful content. But too many emerging filmmakers told us they “weren’t sure where to start.” They either (1) didn’t want to enter other accelerator/incubator programs and give up equity in their project or (2) didn’t have enough contacts in the industry that they felt comfortable approaching for feedback. Sometimes they were just intimidated by the magnitude of the challenge of it all. It seemed like the industry needed a friendly partner to help guide that process. That’s where E2AC comes in.
What is Sizzle 2 Screen?
E2AC brought together a group of industry insiders who volunteered to look at some works in progress that showed significant potential. Not every applicant will get a full report of the project’s viability. But we hope to strengthen relationships between emerging filmmakers and experienced professionals in every phase: development, production, distribution, and campaigns.
How does Sizzle 2 Screen work?
Step 1: Fill out the form.
Filmmakers (it can be anyone involved in the film) can apply by filling out our easy to use Sizzle2Screen form on Airtable. Each quarter, the team meets to review applications and send them to the Doc Accelerator volunteers. Only a handful of all submissions are selected, but all applicants receive a personal response. (Because application ghosting is the worst. How rude [Michelle Tanner voice].)
The easy to use Airtable format takes only 5 minutes to complete. Questions are constantly assessed with feedback given.
Step 2: Get feedback.
After review, the Doc Accelerator volunteers will meet and think about how to best provide open and honest feedback on your project - its subject matter, story, pitch, production, distribution, and possible impact. It’s their opinion, but it’s one that comes with years of collective experience.
Step 3: Accelerate.
E2AC will provide the feedback in a 1:1 setting and hopefully set you up for success however we can. This could mean entry into E2AC’s 0% fee fiscal sponsorship program, introductions to production partners, investors and donors, or consulting on impact. (Or, you can tell us to take a hike. There’s really no downside.) Our hope is that each film that enters the Sizzle 2 Screen Doc Accelerator comes out with a more clear vision for the film’s future and possibilities.
