SIE 101

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN ENTERTAINMENT, NONPROFITS, OR PHILANTHROPY?

E2AC’s Social Impact Entertainment 101 (SIE 101) course invites students from around the country to take their free, 6 week course and get involved with peers and professionals committed to producing entertainment to affect change!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

  • Students apply, interview, and break into teams to tackle 6 week-long projects on Social Impact Entertainment.

  • Projects include the equivalent of a 1-credit free summer course on Social Impact Entertainment (including pitching a film with a cause attached and mapping out an entire Impact Campaign for an E2AC-supported film!); a speaker series with professionals in the field hosted by student leaders; bonus projects that include planning festivals, meeting directors, and building out programs from scratch.

  • The program is run by students, for students. Our Executive Leadership Committee of returning students (a paid internship!) and alumni help steer the program’s projects, recruit peers to participate, and work hand in hand with E2AC staff and Board of Directors.

SOUNDS GREAT - BUT WHAT WILL I BE DOING IF I’M ACCEPTED?

  • E2AC On Campus leaders fully plan and produce E2AC’s Social Impact Film Festival. Student Ambassadors review film submissions, create deliverables and materials, develop marketing and development plans, outreach to film students and departments around the country, and produce the event and screenings. And that’s just one example!

  • Each week, students interact remotely through Zoom (both small team and program-wide), Slack (how we communicate on a daily basis), and G-drive (where we house all our info). The result is a program that is accessible regardless of school and appeals to a wide variety of interests and experience.
